We here at Soundiron are proud to present the latest chapter in our series of powerful, flexible and exquisitely recorded virtual choral libraries: The Venus Symphonic Women’s Choir. We took all we learned from recording previous choirs and applied them here to make certain Venus is extraordinarily playable, diverse and stunningly beautiful.
With Venus, we are aiming for versatility. Instead of focusing on one language, we offer both Slavonic (Russian) and classic Latin content, so composers can explore even more flavor and realism. We spent 10 days in our favorite church recording the 33-voice women’s chorus, featuring top notch talent from Volti, SF Symphony Chorus and the SF Choral Society, capturing all of the delicate nuances of the female human voice. Venus is all about power, clarity and fluidity. It includes 2 mic positions (stage and hall) so composers have the flexibility to incorporate the brilliant, natural sound of Venus easily into their mix. Now finally Venus has risen in the night sky, to join her Male counterpart Mars.
Or you can get the Olympus Choral Bundle with both Mars and Venus together, for the low price of only $559. Use the special cart buttons below to order the Olympus Symphonic Choral Collection now!

Functionality
Venus features a full 33-voice female chorus and 5 soloists, singing in Latin and Slavonic (Russian liturgical), including a full range of standard vowel and consonant sounds. A wide variety of content is included for both languages, as well as a large collection of choral effects (shouts, sweeps, clusters, etc.).
2 masterfully mixed composite microphone positions (stage and hall), carefully blended from an array of 12 discreet large diaphragm Neumann Microphones, with wide pairs ranging in distance from 1 meter to 25 meters. Surround mixing is made simple, with the best balance between placement, flexibility and performance, without compromising the truly awesome sound these women deliver.
In addition to the true legato chorus sustains, ALL sustaining articulations in the library include 3-part polyphonic pseudo-legato (all vowel sustains, fast & slow polysustains, soloist vowel sustains, soloist slow & melodic poly-sustains).
Venus also features a unique bonus collection of Ambiences, Drones, Textures and FX content.
NKI Program Presets
This library is designed for the full retail version of Kontakt 4.2.4 or later. All tempo-synching and speed-control presets require Kontakt 5. However, all core presets are Kontakt 4 compatible.
Several presets also include our custom phrase-builder system, which allows you to automatically progress through a sequence of staccato or marcato syllables, advancing to the next one each time you play a new note.

I understand the software was developed with Latin and Russian. Is it possible to get a convincing sound by putting these syllables together to great an English phrase?
Both Mars and Venus in the Olympus Collection include single-syllable and multi-syllable words in both Latin and Russian most commonly used in the traditional Angelic Salutation (The “Ave Maria”) and common liturgical hymns. These are the elements most commonly requested and used in classical choral music and soundtrack work. We also include a full range of common vowel sounds and simple syllables that are universal to LAtin, Slavonic and English. Each preset also include controls that allow complex rearrangement of syllables and sounds. The Phrase-Synchronous polyphonic legato system in the Polysustain presets allows fluidly sustaining word and chant creation. You’ll find multi-layered dynamic sustained word construction in the Marcato Builder preset. And of course, there is plug-and-play Marcato/Staccato syllable and sustained word sequencing in the Phrase Builder preset. Each preset also includes important Offset, Attack, Release and Release Volume parameter controls that allow further customization of syllables and phrasing to create a variety of extended linguistic design capabilities. The multi-syllable words featured in the polysustains are centered around distinct Latin and Slavonic words that can be modified and blended into new words and phrases, while the individual syllables in the Marcato sustains and staccatos are designed to be more universal.
Hi, what reverb are you using for this please?
Venus Symphonic Women’s Choir was recorded in a naturally reflective hall, so it has a smooth but controlled degree of organic reverberation in the sound. The close mic position has much less of it, while the far mic position has a great deal more “wetness”. We’ve also included an integrated custom convolution impulse selector to every instrument preset, which allows you to add a wide variety of different room and hall reverbs. Each impulse was recorded in a real-world location to provide maximum realism.
Some of the demos you hear may have some added reverb in the mix, depending on each composer’s taste, but for the most part, Venus has a naturally lush, live and vibrant sound without the need to add any additional reverb.
Yes, Im Slovak, I Know (-;, when we were under occupation of CCCP in primary school I taught eight years Russian, it is true that for many of remember, but I can quote Cyrillic. But in this case is in Cyrillic радоваться – translate to Latin alphabet – one word – Radovatsya.
And I heart Slovak (two words)- 1.Radui 2.sya (slovak leng. (1.raduj 2.sa)
- meaning of both is essentially the same.
What I am actually very happy!
My second question: is somewhere a list of phrases and words ?
We includ a full list of words and phrases to the pdf manual. The Slavonic polysustain words are bogoroditse, devo, drago, gospodt, mariye, nashikh, raduisya, rodila, stoboyu, tvoyego, yesidush and yakospasa. The Latin poly-sustain multi-syllable words are amen, benedicti, dominum, excrux, gloria, kyrie, oratsio, origin, salvatoris. They’re all taken from the Slavonic and Latin translations of the Angelic Salutation (“Hail Mary” or “Ave Maria”). There are also dozens of single-syllable fast staccatos and sustaining marcatos that span a very wide variety of common latin and slavonic sounds, so you can assemble your own words and phrases. While there are many possible variants and pronunciations possible for each word, we decided to focus on the most neutral and commonly heard phonetics to provide the most overall flexibility.
Really beautiful choir,
question – what language is used here (1 demo)I hear there Slovak: “Raduj sa” – Slavonic -no Russian liturgical радоваться – is when translate from rus to slovak “Radovatsa” to ?
thnx for answer
The traditional church Slavonic word that you’re hearing, when converted to the Latin alphabet as it is used in the Angelic Salutation, is “raduisya”. It means “rejoice”.
