Breaker is all about the breakbeat, DIY-style. This hi-fi/lo-fi old/new school bastard was born to be broken, bruised, smashed, pumped, slammed, smeared, blown-out and beat to hell. We set out to find the essence of classic versus iconoclastic. We set out to build a big, fat and extremely diverse drum palette that evoked an equal blend of warm, smooth 70′s funk and cold, hard 80s electro and pop. Our aim was to make a drum library that is truly electro-organic: authentic and yet electronic in sound but organically playable, providing the best of both worlds.
The sound is ripe to be chopped, diced, sliced, flipped, trashed, drilled, derezzed, degraded and granulated. It’s geared toward hip hop, electro, soul, funk, pop, breakcore, drum n’ bass, garage, dub, techno, glitch, 2-step, trip hop, illbient, dub-step, house, and whatever the hell have you. We designed the sound to take digital, tape and tube distortion and FX of all kinds and soak it all right up. The sound is fat, dirty and raw right out of the boombox, but a twist of a knob or two and you’ve got a searing, brutally crisp sharp jungle kit ready to go.
We also included over 40 custom FX presets using the power of Kontakt and our custom scripting and user interface controls. These FX presets, which include a range of lead, pad and bass synth sustains, allowing you to build entire tracks from the ground-up with Breaker.

Functionality
First, we captured a huge collection of over 80 pristine multi-sampled drum kit and auxiliary percussion elements, all bone dry and up close, with 8 velocity layers per note. Then we multitracked and re-sampled them, stacked tightly and a dozen layers deep, to grab a ridiculously tight, rich, aggressive and punchy tone and an ultra-wide, vibrant stereo field. Then we piped them through old analog signal paths, to induce a little crud and mild generation loss, with a generous helping of extra gain, pushing the sound straight over the edge into a fat, saturated, tonal beast. This balance of dynamic/organic versus control and precision allows fully nuanced and articulate grooves and syncopated rapid-fire poly-rhythms.
Breaker is the first library to include a preset that combines two of our popular features: the well-known Uberpeggiator and our newest pride and joy – The Mega-Mixer – to allow custom kit creation and ease-of-use. The UI has been streamlined, with everything you need right at your fingertips, including tempo-synced pitch, amplitude and resonant lowpass filter LFOs with envelope shaping, along with 3-band EQ and Convolution controls right on the front panel.

NKI Program Presets
We start you off with 50 unique presets, each with a different take to get you started. We’ve even warped a few into lead synths and pads, to give you an all-in-one sandbox to play in. But where the presets end, the possibilities open wide, with total user control over every aspect of the sound. We’ve plugged it all into a big chain of controls and FX to allow unholy sonic brutality. All presets feature automatable attack, release, offset, swell, key-switching, EQ, convolution, and a full range of other effects controls.
Important Note: This library is designed for the full retail version of Kontakt 4.2.4 or later (Kontakt 5 is also supported). Native Instruments Kontakt version 4.2.4 or 5 full retail version of Kontakt required to use all .nki instrument program presets included in this library. The free Kontakt “Player” does not support this library.

This instrument/library is a revelation in so many ways ! For the asking price it, considering the work that’s gone into it, how can you not want it – whether you need it or not it’s got to be such a useful library to have to hand.
Wow, it’s like this product was made for me. I usually have to do some insane processing to get breaks with this oldschool vibe, but Breaker should be instant gratification.
Plus you guys added a lot of sound design potential. Powerful stuff, as usual…
