Welcome to Small Epic Percussion. A great collection of small orchestral and ethnic percussion instruments intended both to compliment our existing collection of epic drums. It also stands alone as a unique toolbox of under-appreciated but often called-for items, like the tambourine and finger cymbals. We not only went out of our way to capture these instruments as deeply as we could muster, but tried as much as possible to discover new ways of thinking about and playing them. You may notice some unorthodox articulations included with some of the instruments, as well as a few strange combinations and mutations.
For version 2.0, we’ve improved key-mapping and overall playability, added a full set of brand new automatable performance, effect and arpeggiator controls, fixed a few minor bugs and refined the overall experience.

Functionality
Little Epic Percussion includes instruments such as tambourine, finger cymbals, concert triangle, ship’s bell, wooden frogs, monkey drum, native american rabbit drum, and a slew of mixed ensemble percussion featuring claves, kalimba, rattles, shakers, vibraslap, bells, etc. All of these were recorded in our signature epic hall to bring out the full tone of all the instruments.
Our Tone / FX controls give you access to a number of effects to shape the sounds further. The 3-band EQ gives you ±18db of Low, Mid and High with a fully adjustable Mid Freq. sweep from 20Hz to 20kHz. Other effects include Lo-Fi with adjustable bit-depth and sampling frequency, Flanger, Rotator, Pro-53 Filter, Delay with tempo-synch, Convolution Reverb and a Stereo Modeller. The Uberpeggiator is another powerful feature included in most Percussion and FX patches. It’s an advanced arpeggiator allowing control over tempo-synched rhythm timing, number of hits, swing, repeat, pitch, scale and a full 16-step velocity table.

I bought this product but I’m unable to cut the reverb off the samples. Were they recorded wet?
The Little Epic Percussion library is specifically designed for epic percussive composition with a full, naturally lush wet hall sound. All of our “epic” percussion is recorded in a natural reverberant hall, cathedral or church, since that sound not something that can be truly replicated using purely dry samples and any synthetic reverb. It’s a specific sound that many of the scoring composers who primarily use our products are looking for.
You do actually still have the ability to significantly reduce the amount of natural reverberant tail that you hear in the samples in Little Epic Percussion. You can use the “Release” control to adjust how much room tail plays after each note. That should allow you to tighten the room sound quite a bit.
The comparable products in our catalog that have similar types of instruments recorded in a dry studio environment would be Clack and Shake.
